I didn’t start out in design at all. I went into paralegal studies because I’ve always loved puzzles, structure, and figuring things out. I’ve always had a habit of questioning things until they added up. Law gave me the discipline and a sharp eye for detail, but pretty quickly I realized I wanted a space where I could be a little more creative.

That’s what eventually pulled me into Design. It gave me problem solving but with the freedom to imagine new possibilities. Habits I carried over from law, like asking questions, gathering evidence, and looking at problems from different angles, found a new home. I could now use them to create things people enjoy, with care for their well-being as well as the goals of those building them.

Outside of design, I spend most of my time exploring and reading. Traveling, noticing small details, or getting lost in a book is what gives me the ability to see things from new perspectives. Whether it’s through a book, a walk, or a photo, these experiences always find their way back into my design work and keep me creative and open.
